Been having problems with my hip/IT band on my left leg. I can’t seem to get it loosened up, it’s really tight and it’s causing all kinds of problems with my running gait. I’ve been going at it with the foam roller but I can tell I’m overcompensating a lot, because I pulled my quad and hamstring quite badly on that leg in no-gi yesterday. Ah well, that’s life. I am going to make a concerted effort to stretch more.
Tomorrow I will start training twice a day. Tuesdays and Thursdays– two-a-days. I guess since I have the time and the drive right now, it’s a good thing to be doing, right? Am I just insane? I just want my technique to be completely stellar by the time competition rolls around in the fall. Right now, my day looks like this:
7:00 am-11:00 am: job search
11:00 am-12:00 pm: train dog, take dog to dog park, or take dog for run
12:00 pm- 2:00 pm: 1 hour of Chinese, 1 hour of Spanish, and 1 hour of GRE (after next weekend it’ll be LSAT studying what did I get myself into oh god) in some combination. This will change starting tomorrow, instead it will be BJJ.
3:00 pm-5:00 pm: cook dinner. If not cooking, then studying.
5:00 pm: fight traffic. Get road rage. Scream obscenities.
6:00pm-whenever: training.
Being unemployed is hard goddamn work, people.
What’s behind the cut is a secret, so shhhhh.
I got offered a job, after bitching and moaning about it, but decided I won’t take it. The risk-averse person in me is going “WHAT, NO.” But I can’t justify taking a job that pays on commission. I don’t think I’d be a particularly good salesperson, so… I’m going to have to turn it down
. It’s only a secret because I haven’t officially turned it down yet.
